Export as image

File → Export as image… writes a PNG or an SVG. What it exports depends on what is selected and which mode you are in:

You haveThe image is
Nothing selected, in StageThe whole diagram on the current page, fitted with a margin.
A selection, in StageJust the selected objects, cropped to them.
A scene, in StoryThe scene as the audience would see it — its visibility, spotlight and camera framing — at the document's aspect ratio.

PNG is the safe choice for slides and chat. SVG stays sharp at any size and keeps the text editable in a vector tool.

💡
Copy (⌘C) also puts a PNG of the selection on the clipboard, so a quick paste into a deck or a message needs no export at all.

Export as PDF

File → Export as PDF… makes the printable version, and the mode you are in decides its shape:

  • From Stage — the diagram, fitted to paper. Choose this page, every page, or a few of them.
  • From Story — the talk as a handout. Every scene in its finished state (reveals complete, flows and accents at rest), either one scene per page with its speaker notes beside it, or gridded 1, 2, 4, 6 or 9 to a page with captions.

The handout is the thing to leave behind after a talk: the audience gets exactly the sequence they saw, with your notes.

Export as draw.io or Mermaid

File → Export as draw.io or Mermaid… writes the diagram as a draw.io file or as Mermaid text. Shapes from the shipped packs map to their counterparts in the target; a shape the target has no word for is written as the nearest general one, and the export dialog says how many were approximated. Mermaid carries no positions, so a Mermaid export keeps the structure and lets the other tool lay it out.

The reverse direction — opening draw.io, Mermaid and Excalidraw files — is Importing diagrams.

Video and recording

Rendering the talk to an MP4, and recording a narrated take from the presenter cockpit, are part of the paid tier, which is not available yet. The free pre-release presents live and exports images, PDFs and diagram files.
