Terms of use

Last updated 2026-09-08. These terms cover the free pre-release of expono at expono.app.

The short version

expono is free to use, for any purpose, while it is in pre-release. Your diagrams are yours. The software is provided as it is, and we are not liable for what happens when you use it. Please don't attack it.

Using expono

Code Supply, LLC (“we”) provides expono, a browser application for drawing diagrams and presenting them. During the pre-release you may use it free of charge, personally or commercially, on as many devices as you like. There is no account and nothing to sign up for.

A paid tier will come later with further features. Files you make now will open in every future version, whatever tier you use; we do not lock the file format.

Your content

Everything you draw, write or import is yours. We never receive it, so we claim no rights in it and take no responsibility for it. You are responsible for having the right to use what you put in a diagram, including images and material imported from other tools.

Our software

expono, its design, its shape packs and the expono name and mark are ours. You may use the software as we provide it; you may not copy, sell or redistribute it, remove the mark it places on presentations, or interfere with the service — for example by attacking the site or its hosting. expono contains open-source components; their notices and licenses are in the app under Help → About expono, and those licenses govern those components.

Diagram formats belonging to other tools — draw.io, Mermaid, Excalidraw — are supported for import and export; those names belong to their owners.

A pre-release

This is a pre-release. Features may change, be added or be withdrawn, and we may update the app at any time. Save your work: the app keeps a recovery copy in your browser, but the file on your disk is the copy you can rely on.

No warranty

expono is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that it will be available, error-free, or suited to your talk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits or a lost audience, arising from your use of expono. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the software — which, for the pre-release, is nothing.

Privacy

What expono stores and sends is described on the privacy page. It is short.

Changes and law

We may change these terms; the date at the top says when. Using expono after a change means the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the law of the State of Washington, USA, and any dispute belongs to the courts of that state.
